“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

What an amazing thing, to be chosen by God.
I met Jesus when I was very young, but always had the idea I was a bother to Him. I felt certain I got on His nerves.
Peter assures me otherwise. I was chosen by God. He is a loving Father Who wants to spend time with me. And thankfully, He’s not the nervous type.
God’s great love compelled Him to pursue us.
“We love Him because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 (NKJV)
“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”
John 15:16 (NLT)
There is no reason to question God’s love and intention toward us. He hand-picked us to be His own. We can trust Him to take care of us.
We are chosen.
