The word, love, is over-used. I love my husband. I love my children. I love ice cream. I love music. I love my dog. Obviously the love of things is not equal to the love for people.
Jesus knew all about real love. He didn’t simply spout off the words, “I love you.” Jesus put love into action by leaving heaven for a while, suffering and dying because He loves us.
Our feelings are fickle. One minute we feel God’s love, the next minute, not so much. When the feelings aren’t present, we can remember what Jesus has done for us, living proof of His love.
We can rest in the love of Jesus; His love is real love.
