“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!”
1 John 3:1a (NKJV)
The New Living Translation says it this way:
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!”
God was a Father with one son, Jesus. He wanted more children. Lots of them!
So here’s what He did.
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
Galatians 4:5
God planted a seed. He sent Jesus. God’s love is beyond comprehension. We’ve never seen anything like it on this planet. We’re familiar with adoption, but God literally had to give His only Son to get more sons and daughters.
When it seems as if God has forgotten you, you can be certain He hasn’t. In those moments when you feel alone, you aren’t.
God does not regret the price He paid for you. He’s thrilled with every one of His sons and daughters.
Our Father loves us!
