Whenever we have a problem, need something, or want an answer to a question, what do we do?
Call a friend?
Read a book?
Google?
Ask Siri?
The Lord may speak to us through a person or some other source; but what if we go to God in the first place?
I wonder how many times we have gotten an acceptable answer from someone and went with it, not realizing we were forfeiting the best answer we could have gotten from the Lord if we had asked Him first?
The Lord is speaking to us in this verse. “Call to me…”
We have an open invitation to come to Him.
He follows up with a promise. “I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.”
He assures us He will answer. Why would we look anywhere else when we can get the perfect answer from the all knowing One?
In the past I thought I was good at figuring things out on my own. After much trial and error, I found my assessments did not always prove to be correct; and besides, it tuckered my mind.
When I go to the Lord instead of playing the mind games, He tells me what is what, and I’m filled with peace. He did not leave us to figure out our own lives.
He is our Father. He wants the best for us, and He knows exactly what the best is.
Let’s make Him the first place we look.
