The Lord Is …

Posted on November 2, 2016 by Dara

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.”

Psalm 103:8 (NKJV)

This verse leaves no questionings of God’s temperament and character.

“Merciful.”

“Gracious.”

“Slow to anger.”

And if that is not enough, “abounding in mercy.” Abounding!

In the past I thought God was angry and uptight, ready to punish me; but this verse completely discounts such a theory. God has no anger issues.

God never has a bad day nor wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. I realize God never sleeps, but if He did, He would wake up in a good mood with fresh mercy on His mind.

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

Lamentations 3:22, 23 (NLT)

There is no need to question God’s love for us when we wake up each morning with the smell of fresh mercy baking in Heaven’s oven.
